Inside Travel, the B Corp certified cultural adventure specialist, has launched Korea by Rail, a 13-day self-guided journey connecting Seoul to Busan along South Korea’s scenic east coast. The itinerary is made possible by the country’s new high-speed Donghae rail line.

Developed by InsideAsia, part of the Inside Travel group, the journey is the first to fully utilise the expanded ITX rail network. It allows travellers to loop the country from capital to coast and back again without the need for private transfers or domestic flights.

Inside Travel’s Senior South Korea Product Executive Rebecca Barry said the new route opens up deeper cultural discovery.

“We’re thrilled to connect travellers across the country, from the buzz of Seoul to the heritage of Gyeongju and the seaside charm of Busan. The Donghae line offers a responsible and beautiful way to explore, just as the locals do,” she said.

Barry added that the new connection makes it easy to include Gangneung, a local favourite known for its beaches, coffee culture and mountain scenery. The destination is now accessible to international visitors for the first time by train.

The 12-night flexible itinerary includes handpicked accommodation, a traditional hanok stay in Gyeongju, immersive cultural experiences and Insider guiding along the way. Optional add-ons include Jeju Island extensions, hotel upgrades and experiences such as bibimbap cooking classes.

Inside Travel Co-founder Alastair Donnelly said South Korea continues to attract travellers seeking new experiences. “The new train line is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. Train travel is at the heart of what we do as it connects travellers to everyday local life and the real rhythm of a destination,” he said.

Korea by Rail is priced from A$7,300 per person and is available to book now through Inside Travel’s Australian team or your preferred travel advisor.
