Australia’s first five-star overnight riverboat, the PS Australian Star, is set to launch on the Murray River this summer in Echuca, Victoria. Murray River Paddlesteamers is offering 20 per cent earlybird savings on seven-night cruises in 2027 for bookings made by December 31, 2025. Travel agents earn 10 per cent commission on all bookings.

The $11 million PS Australian Star combines heritage charm with modern luxury. The 38-guest paddlesteamer is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and the only wood-fired, five-star accommodated paddlesteamer in the world. The vessel features a deluxe lounge with river views, a gourmet restaurant, multiple outdoor relaxation areas, and 19 staterooms with ensuites, air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, luxury linen, and private deck access.

Powered by a hybrid diesel and 1907 wood-fired steam engine, the Australian Star delivers a nostalgic yet energy-efficient journey through the Murray River. Guests can enjoy daily excursions to farm stations, wineries, and heritage towns, as well as riverside barbecues under starlit skies.

The new vessel will operate year-round cruises of three to seven nights from Echuca, with 2027 seven-night fares starting at A$5,240 per person twin-share after the earlybird discount. Fares include return rail transfers from Melbourne, onboard meals, daily excursions, Wi-Fi, gratuities, selected drinks, and more.

Bookings can be made through Murray River Paddlesteamers on 03 5482 5244 or at www.mrps.com.au using code AUSTSTAR2027.
