Fiji Airways has become the latest airline to issue strict new guidelines over the presence of power banks on its aircraft.

Under the updated policy, the use of power banks onboard is prohibited, power banks are not permitted in checked luggage and passengers must carry up to two power banks (maximum 100Wh each) in their cabin baggage, stored in the seat pocket rather than overhead compartments.

The change follows a review of operational safety protocols in line with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to aviation safety and global best practice.

Guests are encouraged to visit the Fiji Airways website for a full list of items restricted onboard.

Information about these changes will be communicated to customers ahead of their flights, at check-in and at the terminal from January 19.
