Holland America Line has unveiled what it calls the most ambitious guest experience update in its 153-year history.
Holland America Evolution is a multi-year investment of more than $US500 million to reimagine six of its ships.
Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line President, said the program was a direct response to guest feedback.
“This investment allows us to introduce experiences and venues that are new to the fleet, add Pinnacle Class favourites like Grand Dutch Café and create new stateroom categories designed for the way people travel today, all while preserving the perfectly sized ship experience that defines Holland America,” Ms Bodensteiner said.
The renovation will span four Vista Class ships – Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, Westerdam and Noordam – alongside the two Signature Class ships, Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam.
Each vessel will be revitalised ship by ship, with a focus on expanding dining and bar options, refreshing guest spaces and introducing new stateroom and suite categories.
Oosterdam will be the first to undergo the transformation, debuting in autumn 2027.
The ship will gain 76 additional staterooms and a series of new accommodation categories, including 30 purpose-built solo verandahs with private balconies, two new bridgeview suites with 180-degree ocean views and 900 square feet of space and a reimagined pinnacle suite spanning 1,550 square feet.
Twenty-four vista suites, familiar to Pinnacle Class guests, will also debut on the ship.
The Grand Dutch Café, previously exclusive to Pinnacle Class ships, will also make its way to Oosterdam, bringing the all-day European-inspired gathering space to a wider audience.
Sustainability is a core element of the program, with a focus on circular design, material reuse and targeted technical investments to improve energy efficiency across the fleet.
Further details about Oosterdam and the remaining five ships will be released at hollandamerica.com/evolution.
