Global Village Travel has officially become Global Travel Co Balmain Village, marking the next stage in the Sydney agency’s evolution following its acquisition by Global Travel Co in July 2025.
Benjamin Apsey, Global Travel Co Owner, said the rebrand was about continuity, not change.
“This is not about replacing what Global Village Travel built. It is about continuing that service under a clearer, stronger brand that connects Balmain with our wider Global Travel Co family,” Mr Apsey said.
The agency at 328 Darling Street has been part of the Balmain community since 1992, when Heidi Kervinen first took on the business as Harvey World Travel in Loyalty Square Arcade.
It later became Global Village Travel when it joined Travellers Choice in 2003 and has continued serving clients across Sydney’s Inner West through multiple chapters including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms Kervinen remains with the agency as Senior Travel Planner, continuing to support her long-standing clients alongside Mr Apsey and the broader Global Travel Co team.
Global Travel Co also operates in Toowoomba, Queensland, where its agency history dates back to 1949. Together, the Toowoomba and Balmain Village stores bring more than 100 years of combined travel agency history across Queensland and New South Wales.
The agency is a member of Travellers Choice and ATIA Accredited.
