Bookings for the 2027 Ngaro Track season will open on August 11 after independent walker permits for 2026 sold out shortly after release. The 32 kilometre trail crosses Whitsunday Island in Queensland.

Developed by the Queensland Government with the Ngaro Traditional Owners, the route connects Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet through rainforest, hoop pine forest, beaches and coastal lookouts.

The walk also shares stories of the Ngaro People’s connection to Country. Independent hikers stay at purpose built camps at Bowarri yamba and Dhula yamba under a permit system managed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.

World Expeditions will open bookings for its supported Ngaro Track Walk in Comfort and guided Thorsborne Trail departures on the same day. New bookings made between August 11 and midnight on August 18 receive $200 per person off eligible 2027 guided departures.

Independent permits and guided departures are limited, with higher demand expected during peak travel periods.
