The Wollombi Valley Sculpture Festival will return from September 12 to 27 with an expanded program designed to encourage visitors to spend more time exploring the NSW region.
More than 180 works will be displayed across Wollombi, Undercliff Winery and Laguna, alongside artist talks, guided walks, workshops, live music, food events and activities for children.
The festival begins with a free opening night celebration at Wollombi Tennis Club on September 12, when 12 prizes valued at more than $80,000 will be announced.
Visitors can start the sculpture trail at the Festival Hub at Grays Inn in Wollombi, with guided tours departing daily at 11am. An expanded midweek program will provide additional reasons to visit beyond the main weekend periods.
Sheena Duncan, Wollombi Valley Sculpture Festival Executive Director, said this year’s program had been developed to encourage longer stays in the region.
“In 2026, we’ve created even more reasons for visitors to linger longer and immerse themselves in the Wollombi Valley,” Ms Duncan said.
The festival’s Linger Longer initiative also aims to support accommodation providers, wineries, restaurants and other tourism businesses by encouraging visitors to turn a day trip into a multi-night regional break.
Winmark Wines in Broke will also offer a program of activities during the festival, adding another stop for visitors exploring the surrounding area.
Established in 2002, the biennial event is described by organisers as regional NSW’s largest and longest-running sculpture festival. It is operated by more than 100 volunteers.
Located less than two hours from Sydney and around 90 minutes from Newcastle, the Wollombi Valley provides an accessible spring option for agents planning regional NSW itineraries combining arts, food, wine and accommodation.
