Filipino tennis player Alex Eala has been named the face of a new Asia Pacific tennis campaign, as Marriott Bonvoy expands member access to sporting experiences ahead of the Australian Open 2027.

The partnership forms part of the Tennis The World campaign across Asia Pacific excluding China, with Eala set to feature in member experiences and future opportunities linked to tennis events across the region.

John Toomey, Marriott International Chief Commercial Officer APEC, said Eala’s growing profile and connection to Southeast Asia made her a strong fit for the campaign.

“Alex embodies so much of what Marriott Bonvoy stands for. She is authentic, inspiring, and proudly connected to the region we serve,” Mr Toomey said.

Eala said travel had played an important role throughout her professional tennis career.

“Every tournament brings the opportunity to experience new places, meet new people and create memories that stay with you long after the match is over,” Ms Eala said.

The announcement coincides with early ticket access for the Australian Open 2027, where Marriott Bonvoy will return as Official Hotel Partner for a sixth year.

Members can access a dedicated pre-sale before tickets go on general sale, with the window closing at 11.59pm AEST on August 12.

The Australian Open 2027 will run from January 11 to 31 at Melbourne Park, with further Marriott Bonvoy Moments planned in the lead-up to the tournament, including opportunities to meet Eala in person.

The partnership gives travel advisors another example of how hotel loyalty programs are expanding beyond accommodation, using major sporting events and athlete partnerships to create experiences for members.
