More than 420 tourism professionals have taken the chance to connect with more than 60 Japanese tourism suppliers across a three-city Australasian roadshow.

The 2026 JNTO Japan Roadshow took place recently across Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland.

The events brought together travel buyers, wholesalers, retailers, airlines, media and tourism suppliers for a series of industry networking opportunities designed to strengthen travel trade partnerships between Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Hosted by Japan National Tourism Organization Sydney Office, the initiative provided travel professionals with direct access to Japanese tourism specialists to create opportunities for business development and product growth.

The roadshow highlighted the breadth of tourism experiences available throughout Japan, from major city destinations and luxury accommodation to regional tourism experiences, rail travel, nature-based adventures, cultural attractions and emerging destinations seeking stronger engagement with the Australasian market.

“The continued enthusiasm from travel advisors and industry partners across Australia and New Zealand demonstrates the strength of demand for Japan and the importance of face-to-face engagement,” said Naoki Kitazawa, Executive Director of JNTO Sydney Office.

“The roadshow provides a valuable platform for our industry partners to build relationships, exchange ideas and create new opportunities that ultimately enhance travel experiences for visitors to Japan.”

Throughout the events, attendees had the opportunity to meet suppliers from across Japan, reflecting the diversity of experiences available across the country.

Participating organisations included local governments, destination marketing organisations, hotels, transport providers, attractions and inbound specialists, supporting travel advisors in developing new itineraries and expanding their Japan product knowledge.

As demand for travel to Japan continues to remain strong, the success of the 2026 roadshow underscores the value of strong trade partnerships in inspiring future visitation and ensuring travel advisors stay informed about the latest tourism developments, products and experiences from across Japan.
