An innovative new platform has just been launched which aims to help fit the right candidate to the right job in the travel industry.
Talent for Travel has created the Talent Marketplace, described as a different way for travel businesses to find great people.
The ground-breaking platform is the brainchild of respected industry figure Richard Taylor (left).
“This is about promoting people, not jobs, and I don’t believe this has ever been done before,” Mr Taylor told Traveltalk.
“This is a new way to promote talent and link employers and those looking for jobs together. It also aligns more with what I want to do because I love linking people in this way.”
The Talent Marketplace is a curated snapshot of talented people registered with Talent for Travel who have agreed to be listed, as the platform operates on a consent-based model.
If the individual is currently employed, they maintain complete control over whether their details are shared with potential employers before any introduction is made.
“Employers can now discover people they may never have found through a traditional job ad,” said Mr Taylor.
“And this makes an immediate contribution to increasing visibility for candidates.
“This is a shop window for brilliance that removes the outsized role that luck currently plays in connecting the right people with the right travel jobs.”
Mr Taylor highlighted the problems with the current options available to travel businesses looking for staff.
They can post on generic job platforms and hope the right person finds their role during a brief advertising window.
Alternatively, they can hire a recruiter, banking on the recruiter having both the industry knowledge and candidate network required.
The Talent Marketplace showcases a curated snapshot of industry talent across all experience levels and salary ranges, including a specialised section for senior executives. Employers can browse available candidates and request introductions.
Talent for Travel is actively developing a searchable database that will allow participating employers to find candidates by specific skills, location and more, with candidates deciding who sees their information and which organisations they’re introduced to.
“I know so many travel businesses who are looking for people right now,” added Mr Taylor.
“The introduction of the Talent Marketplace instantly makes a positive contribution to showcasing great people and putting them in front of businesses. And this is only the beginning.”
