Atura Hotels has appointed Shannon Craig as General Manager of Atura Oran Park ahead of the hotel’s opening this month, adding the role to her existing responsibilities as Area General Manager NSW.
Ms Craig brings more than 20 years of hotel leadership experience across Australia, New Zealand and the UK with EVT.
Her previous roles have included Rydges Parramatta, Rydges Wellington, Atura Adelaide Airport, QT Canberra, Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns and Rydges Kensington London.
She is currently overseeing the final pre-opening phase of Atura Oran Park, including recruitment and training, operational systems, service standards and relationships with local business, tourism and community partners.
The new 184-room hotel will include contemporary accommodation, a restaurant and bar, flexible conference and event spaces, an outdoor pool and terrace.
“South Western Sydney has transformed remarkably. Oran Park itself has gone from a semi-rural area, best known for its motorsport history, into a thriving town centre with new housing, retail and infrastructure,” Ms Craig said.
“There is a real sense of momentum here and our focus is on making sure Atura Oran Park becomes part of that community from day one.”
The hotel will open at a significant time for the region, with Western Sydney International Airport scheduled to begin operations later in 2026. Atura Oran Park is located around 20 minutes from the new airport.
Ms Craig said the airport and continued investment across South Western Sydney would create new opportunities for both business and leisure travel.
