Launch savings have been announced for Australia’s first five-star overnight riverboat.
PS Australian Star is now operating three- to seven-night cruises from Echuca in Victoria along the Murray River.
To mark the launch, selected seven-night departures in 2027 and 2028 are available with savings of up to $1,250 per person when booked by October 31.
The largest discount applies to seven-night sailings in June, July and August 2027, with fares from $5,745 per person twin share after the saving. Selected November 2027 and 2028 departures are also discounted.
Eligible seven-night bookings made during the sale include a complimentary pre-cruise night at the Mercure Port of Echuca.
The new vessel carries 38 guests across 19 staterooms and completed its inaugural seven-night departure on October 5.
Designed to reference the Murray’s historic paddlesteamers while introducing contemporary accommodation, Australian Star features a lounge, restaurant, outdoor areas and a passenger lift connecting all decks.
Every stateroom opens directly onto a deck and includes an ensuite, air conditioning and Starlink Wi-Fi.

The vessel uses a hybrid diesel and steam propulsion system incorporating a 1907 wood-fired steam engine. Its itineraries combine time on the river with excursions to farm stations, wineries and heritage towns, along with riverside dining experiences.
Cruise fares include return V/Line rail transfers between Melbourne and Echuca, onboard meals, excursions, transfers, Wi-Fi, gratuities and selected drinks with dinner.
