Tourism Ireland has taken eight travel advisors from Australasia to discover the culture, cuisine and character the island of Ireland has to offer.

Visiting the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and Northern Ireland, the agents got to experience a range of activities across the island, along with staying in some of Ireland’s top accommodation.

From food tours and oyster farms to a stay in the new luxury hotel The Hawthorn by Galway Bay, along with a visit to some of the island’s most famous landmarks like the Giant’s Causeway and The Gobbins Cliff Path – the itinerary showcased the breadth and diversity of experiences available across the island of Ireland.

“Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of Australian and New Zealand travel agents to visit Ireland, to experience first-hand some of our superb tourism offering,” said Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

“Seeing really is believing – our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination with their clients.”

The visit forms part of Tourism Ireland’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Australian travel trade and building destination expertise for this important market.
