New Caledonia recently hosted a mix of retail, independent and specialist travel agents from Australia on a trade famil to the destination.
The famil focused on showcasing the diversity of New Caledonia beyond the lagoon, with a strong emphasis on lesser-known areas of the destination, cultural discovery, food and wine, premium accommodation and soft adventure, and active travel.
Some of the itinerary highlights included:
- Isle of Pines, with a stay at the recently opened Le Domaine Oro, plus a diving tour and outrigger tour on the agenda.
- Kone Island and the mangrove swamps, with a night at the Hibiscus Hotel.
- Hienghene, located on the forgotten coast, with its remarkable rock formations and enchanting waterfalls.
- A tribal visit in Poindimie, where the group was invited to experience the Kanak culture with traditional dances and Bougna cooking.
- Experiencing the capital of Noumea with multiple site visits to hotels such as Le Lagon Hotel, Aqualuna, Le Stanley and Le Domaine Noumea.
