The Cook Islands are taking over TikTok travel bucket lists with #CookIslands amassing an impressive 10 million views in Australia over the past 4 months.

But it’s not just a For You Page dream —new data from Webjet reveals a 48% rise in bookings for travel to the Cook Islands in the next six months compared to the same period in 2023*.

Alongside the new island gem, Bali also continues to have its moment – with bookings up 47% since last year*. But Fiji-fever isn’t holding as strong, with a 3% decrease in overall bookings.

Aussies can enjoy a trip to the Cook Islands for a similar price to these old-time island favorites, costing on average $2,080* compared to $1,845* and  $2,130* for Bali and Fiji respectively.

When it comes to idyllic island getaways, Bali and Fiji have long been Aussie favourites. However, this year, Webjet data shows a growing interest in alternative destinations like the Cook Islands, where bookings have increased by 48%*. Providing a similar tropical escape that’s also close to home, the Cook Islands are on the radar as a next favourite island destination for Aussies,” CEO of Webjet OTA, David Galt, said.
