In celebration of World Dumpling Day, bibigo, a global leader in Korean cuisine, proudly announces an exciting new partnership with Qantas, Australia’s flagship airline. Starting this October, Qantas international passengers will be able to enjoy the authentic flavours of Korea as bibigo introduces two of its most beloved Mandu dumplings – Original Pork and Pork & Kimchi Flavoured – on select international flights. This signals the first time an international airline outside of Korea is offering bibigo K-Food as an in-flight meal option.

From Local Farms to Qantas: The Spirit of Australia

This partnership represents a unique blend of Australian quality and Korean culinary tradition. bibigo’s Mandu dumplings, crafted with Australian pork and fresh vegetables, embody the essence of both cultures, delivering a harmonious and flavourful experience for travellers.

The bibigo steamed Mandu being served on selected Qantas flights are crafted with premium ingredients sourced from Australian-based farms, ensuring high quality and freshness. Each dumpling is filled with succulent pork, crisp cabbage and onion, all of which are carefully selected to maintain the product’s authenticity and flavour. This commitment to sourcing locally not only supports Australian agriculture but also guarantees that Qantas flyers can enjoy the unique, authentic taste of bibigo Mandu – a taste that has captivated food lovers worldwide for years. The vibrancy of these ingredients shines through in every bite, ensuring that the dumplings remain flavourful, and true to the authentic, traditional Korean recipe.

Qantas passengers will have the opportunity to savour bibigo’s Mandu, whether they’re craving the rich, savoury taste of the Original Pork or the bold, tangy flavours of the Pork & Kimchi variety. Encased in a delicately kneaded, chewy dough, each steamed dumpling is generously filled with juicy, high-quality ingredients, offering a perfect bite every time.

Eugene Cha Navarro, Managing Director of CJ Foods Oceania, expressed her enthusiasm for this partnership: “We are thrilled to bring the authentic taste of Korea to Qantas passengers. At bibigo, we believe that food has the power to connect cultures and bring people together, and what better way to reflect that than through a collaboration with one of the world’s leading airlines. By partnering with Qantas, we proudly support ‘The Spirit of Australia,’ not only through this exciting in-flight experience with them but also by sourcing premium ingredients from Australian farms, ensuring that every bite of bibigo Mandu reflects the essence of both Australian and Korean culinary traditions.”

A Global Culinary Experience at 30,000 Feet

bibigo’s collaboration with Qantas is a natural extension of the brand’s mission to share the vibrant flavours of Korean cuisine with the world. As the leading Korean food brand, bibigo merges traditional flavours with modern values, creating products that are both delicious and convenient. The name “bibigo” is inspired by the Korean word for “mix,” symbolising the exciting fusion of flavours that passengers can now experience onboard Qantas flights to and from Australia (Perth), UK (London), Singapore, Philippines (Manila), Canada and Japan (Tokyo).

This partnership also highlights Qantas’s commitment to providing a diverse and memorable dining experience for its passengers. By offering bibigo Mandu on their flights, Qantas not only enriches its in-flight menu but also allows passengers to explore new and exciting tastes, making their journey even more enjoyable.

The launch of this partnership on World Dumpling Day is a fitting tribute to the global love for dumplings. Celebrated annually on September 26th, World Dumpling Day is a day to honour the diverse ways in which cultures around the world have embraced the dumpling—a simple, yet versatile dish. For bibigo and Qantas, it is the perfect occasion to introduce passengers to the rich, savoury world of Korean Mandu.
