Linkd Tourism, representing the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), recently hosted two high-energy trade events for travel agents, drawing a full house at The Westin Perth and Doltone House Hyde Park in Sydney.

With a combined attendance of around 200 industry professionals, the events featured an impressive lineup of approximately 40 top Japanese suppliers at each location. The evening provided an invaluable opportunity for agents to network, strengthen trade connections, and gather the latest insights on Japan’s tourism offerings.

Adding a touch of excitement to the event, the official mascot of Expo 2025, Myaku-Myaku, made a special appearance, boosting awareness of the upcoming global showcase set to take place in Osaka from 13 April to 13 October 2025.

JNTO shared compelling data on Japan’s booming tourism industry, highlighting a remarkable 48% increase in Australian visitor numbers in 2024 compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Harriett Bougher, JNTO’s Business Development & Senior Assistant Marketing Manager, expressed gratitude to attendees for their role in promoting travel beyond Japan’s major cities, contributing to record growth in regional tourism this year.
