Some places grab your attention immediately—loud, spectacular, impressive. Others work more quietly. They stay with you not because they demand to, but because they don’t. Villa Blanc on Vanuatu is one of those quiet places.

It’s located where the land gently meets the sea, where the light feels soft even at midday. A narrow path winds through tropical greenery, past mango trees and tree ferns—at the end of it: a house. Open, understated, nestled between garden and ocean.

A house that doesn’t try to be more than it is

The architecture is simple, almost self-effacing: spacious rooms, high ceilings, large windows that let in breeze and light without resistance. Inside, bright surfaces dominate, clean lines, minimal decoration. There’s nothing clamouring for attention. Only the ocean, present in every movement—visually, acoustically, atmospherically.

The four king-size bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, accommodate up to eight adults. Two of the rooms include daybeds—a practical addition for families with children. Every room opens out—either to the garden or the terrace.

There’s a deep, quiet calm built into the villa. It comes from the architecture, the rhythm of light, the absence of distraction. And it lingers—even if you didn’t come looking for it.

Privacy with perspective

In front of the terrace lies an infinity pool, and just beyond it, the villa’s private sandy beach begins—gently sloping, sheltered, empty. No passers-by. No other guests. The sand is shaped by your own footsteps. The water, by your own thoughts.
You can swim, read, be silent. Or gather, cook, laugh. The villa offers space for both: retreat and connection.

Secluded, yet connected

As remote as Villa Blanc may feel, it’s just 25 minutes by car from Port Vila. From here, you can explore the island, visit markets, go diving, chase waterfalls or fly out to one of Vanuatu’s volcanoes.

If you’d rather dine out, there’s no need for a car: one of the island’s best restaurants, Tamanu on the Beach, is only about ten minutes’ walk away—right along the shoreline. A short barefoot stroll in the sand leads to grilled fish, local flavours, and much more.
In this way, Villa Blanc is not only a place to retreat, but also a place that keeps you connected—to island life, to other people, to possibilities.

Quiet self-sufficiency

The villa is largely self-sufficient. Solar panels and battery storage provide the electricity; a rainwater tank supplies the water. You hardly notice it—but you sense that it takes very little to have everything you need.
And despite this independence, there’s no lack of connection: thanks to Starlink, the internet is fast and stable—whether you’re catching up on messages, working remotely, or planning your next destination.

Wi-Fi, housekeeping, high-quality linens and locally sourced organic toiletries are all part of the experience—subtle, but thoughtfully integrated.

Space to be together, and alone

The layout offers space—for encounters and for solitude. Families and small groups can move freely without getting in each other’s way. For children, there are daybeds, lawns, and a safe, gentle access to the water.
There’s no fixed structure to the day. Some stay by the pool, others wander along the beach. At some point, everyone drifts back to the terrace—for coffee, for wind, for dusk.

Dining under open skies

The kitchen is open, functional, and well-equipped: oven, microwave, Nespresso machine—everything you need to make things simple.
Outside, the table quickly becomes the centre of the day: breakfast with an ocean view, dinner by candlelight, long conversations as the wind picks up. And in between: just sitting. Just watching.

Who is this place for?

Not everyone. Those looking for entertainment, a fixed daily schedule, spa treatments or room service may not find what they’re after here.
But for those who seek simplicity, openness, space—for those who want to be barefoot without being noticed, and who don’t mind that a single day might feel like two—Villa Blanc is a quiet promise.

A house that asks for nothing. But gives a lot.
