Jetstar will launch the new three-times-a-week Bali (Denpasar) route from Gold Coast Airport on August 1.

The new service will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday – adding more than 58,000 low fare seats between the two destinations each year.

Amelia Evans, Queensland Airports Limited CEO, said the additional flights would provide customers with more choice.

“Bali is a popular holiday choice for locals, with more than 130,000 passengers travelling between the two destinations in the past two years,” said Ms Evans.

“This is a huge win for our region, making Bali more accessible and providing more options for locals looking to book their next getaway!”

To operate the new route, Jetstar will base two of its newest aircraft, the Airbus A320neo, at Gold Coast Airport.

“This is really positive news as it will also allow Jetstar to use those aircraft to further boost capacity on other key markets such Melbourne, Perth, Cairns and several New Zealand routes,” added Ms Evans.

Stephanie Tully, Jetstar Group CEO, said Bali remains the top destination for Jetstar customers.

“We are thrilled to provide our customers with a low-cost connection between the Gold Coast and Bali, making it more affordable and convenient for travellers to reach the Indonesian holiday island.

“Bali has always been Jetstar’s most popular international destination and it’s not hard to see why with its beautiful beaches and resorts, delicious food, friendly locals, affordability and proximity to Australia.”

This announcement builds on Jetstar’s recent network expansion, which includes three new routes launching in June from the Gold Coast to Hamilton and Dunedin in New Zealand, as well as Darwin.
