Food lovers and hikers alike have reason to celebrate: Catalonia in north-eastern Spain has been named the World Gastronomy Region for 2025, and On Foot Holidays is serving up a delicious way to explore it.
The new title, awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism, honours Catalonia’s sustainable, flavour-filled food scene—think cheeses, olives, wine, fresh produce, and famed cured meats.
To mark the occasion, European tour operator On Foot Holidays is offering a self-guided, eight-night inn-to-inn walking holiday through the beautiful Priorat region, with an itinerary that blends cultural discovery, wine tasting, and hearty Catalan meals.
