If you dream of owning a flying car, it could be a reality sooner than you think – if you have $1M USD to spare…

In a landmark moment for personal mobility, Slovakian company Klein Vision has unveiled the production prototype of its revolutionary AirCar at the prestigious Living Legends of Aviation Gala Dinner in Beverly Hills. This dual-mode vehicle, capable of transforming from a road car to an aircraft in under two minutes, marks a significant leap towards the long-envisioned future of flying cars.

The AirCar, designed by aviation pioneer Professor Stefan Klein, has been in development for over three decades. The production prototype, revealed to an audience of aviation luminaries including John Travolta, Morgan Freeman, and Buzz Aldrin, showcases the culmination of years of rigorous testing and innovation. Professor Klein was honoured with the Special Recognition Award for Engineering Excellence, acknowledging his contributions to aviation and personal air mobility.

The AirCar’s latest iteration features a powerful 280-horsepower engine, enabling it to reach flight speeds of up to 120 mph (193 km/h) and altitudes of 15,000 feet (4,572 metres). The vehicle has successfully completed over 170 flight hours and more than 500 take-offs and landings, demonstrating its reliability and performance. Its innovative design includes retractable wings and a folding tail, allowing seamless transition between driving and flying modes in approximately two minutes.

The production model introduces a monocoque construction, enhancing structural integrity and manufacturing efficiency. This design shift addresses previous challenges associated with welded tube frames, paving the way for scalable production.

Klein Vision plans to launch the AirCar commercially in early 2026, with an anticipated price range between $800,000 and $1 million USD. The company has already secured pre-orders and is preparing to produce up to 100 units annually. The AirCar holds a Certificate of Airworthiness in Slovakia and is pursuing further certifications to expand its operational reach.

The AirCar represents a significant advancement in personal transportation, merging the convenience of driving with the freedom of flight. As urban congestion continues to challenge traditional mobility solutions, innovations like the AirCar offer a promising alternative. With its blend of automotive and aeronautical engineering, the AirCar is poised to redefine how we perceive and navigate our world.
