It was a night of celebration, strategy and Survivor-style suspense as GFOB wrapped up its Globus All Stars sales incentive with a blockbuster bash at Sydney’s Verandah Bar.

Themed around the hit reality show Survivor, the 12-week competition saw travel advisors from across Australia and New Zealand go head-to-head in a series of challenges that tested their skill, stamina and sales smarts. The final 12 contenders—hailing from New Zealand, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales—gathered for one last showdown, facing four high-energy challenges designed to test memory, hand-eye coordination, aim and speed.

When the dust settled, three standout agents emerged victorious, each taking home a luxury Avalon Waterways cruise:

  • Jay Irvine from House of Travel, Barrington (New Zealand)
  • Thomas McDonald from Helloworld, Lilydale (Victoria)
  • Rachel Howard from Flight Centre, Mandurah (Perth)

Adding to the evening’s energy was special guest and reality TV favourite King George, who shared insight from his time on Survivor, offering up advice that resonated with the room full of travel professionals.

He also gave a few plugs for his new book How to Win Friends and Manipulate People.

“Whether you’re playing a game on an island or helping a client book their dream holiday, it all comes down to understanding people’s priorities, intentions and motivations,” George said. He drew parallels between building alliances on Survivor and forming relationships with clients, reminding the crowd that shared goals, good judgement, and storytelling are key to success—whether in the game or in business.

“Time is the most precious currency,” he told the room. “In Survivor, you can’t get it back. But you can learn to read people, steer the moment, and influence a win-win outcome. That’s good manipulation—and it’s good sales.”

The evening was a celebration not only of the finalists but of the tenacity, creativity and commitment that drive the travel industry forward. A fitting finale to GFOB’s most memorable sales incentive yet.
