With every tour capped at just 12 people, Bunnik Tours intentionally keeps their groups small to give travellers the best of both worlds: shared experiences, but also space and comfort.

Each itinerary is designed to celebrate what makes Africa unique – whether it’s lunch with villagers in Tanzania, a scenic cruise in Walvis Bay in search of dolphins, seals and pelicans, a balloon safari viewing the sights of the mighty Maasai Mara and its wildlife, or two nights in a luxury train hotel suspended above the Sabie River.

“Our Africa program is truly something special. It’s one of those bucket list destinations people dream about and when they go, they want to do it right,” said Annelieke Huijgens, General Manager, Bunnik Tours.

“Our clients want more than just a checklist of highlights – they’re after connection, authenticity and a little bit of adventure. That’s exactly what our Africa program delivers.”

As a family-run business with a passion for purposeful travel, Bunnik Tours is deeply committed to protecting the people, places and cultures it visits.

“For us, it’s not just about ticking off destinations – it’s about doing the right thing by the communities who welcome us. We feel a great responsibility to support and preserve the environments we explore,” said Ms Huijgens.

For every Africa tour booked, Bunnik Tours makes a donation to Tanzeed, a Tanzanian charity helping disadvantaged children access education, and to the Greenmanjaro Foundation, which works to protect the fragile ecosystem surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro.

Through its Kilimanjaro Climate Care Projects, Greenmanjaro delivers school-based education programs that teach children how to recycle, grow food and combat the impact of deforestation and climate change.

Funds also support clean-up days, tree planting initiatives and school garden infrastructure.

“We’re proud to support projects that leave a lasting impact. It means our clients can travel in a way that’s meaningful, connected and future focused,” she said.

“We’re proud to keep doing Africa our way – responsibly, authentically and always with the client experience top of mind.”
