The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) has re-elected Christian Hunter as Chair and confirmed a refreshed Board line-up, as the organisation prepares for another year of strategic reform and industry leadership.

Hunter, who will continue to steer the Association’s A30 transformation strategy, is joined by Graham Turner and Toni Ambler as Vice Chairs. The AGM also saw the formal election of six Directors, with Greg O’Neil and Jo Sully joining as new appointees and Katrina Barry, Cinzia Burnes, Graham Turner and Christian Hunter re-elected for another two-year term.

“It’s a tremendous honour to be re-elected to the ATIA Board,” said Hunter. “I’m looking forward to continuing our work delivering on A30, ensuring our members are well-supported and well-represented as we build a unified, future-focused travel industry.”

Turner, founder of Flight Centre and returning Vice Chair, noted, “There’s important work ahead as we drive reforms that support sustainable growth and ensure the travel sector remains strong, competitive, and future-ready.”

The announcement follows the successful conclusion of ATIA’s Annual General Meeting, with six nominations received for six available Board positions. The Board continues to reflect the diversity of ATIA’s growing membership and the wide range of sectors it represents.

Newly appointed Director Greg O’Neil of BCD Travel said, “Joining the ATIA Board is part of our commitment to support the overall corporate travel industry. The ATIA is the driving voice for our sector.”

Returning Director Katrina Barry added, “We’ve laid important foundations through A30 and I’m committed to strengthening the pathways we’re building for skills development, consumer trust, and member-driven innovation.”

Jo Sully, re-elected to the Board, described the A30 strategy as “an ambitious and necessary roadmap for strengthening our industry from workforce development to consumer confidence.”

Jamie Pherous, Global MD of CTM, welcomed Sully’s re-election: “Jo’s presence on the ATIA Board ensures that CTM continues to provide a leading contribution to addressing the major challenges our industry must overcome.”

Departing Board member Danielle Russom reflected on her tenure, saying, “My personal highlight was the launching of A30 which I believe will provide the industry a foundation for growth. I leave with immense admiration for the ATIA’s dedication to strengthening the travel sector and fostering innovation.”
