These were just some of the highlights for a group of eight key industry partners as they enjoyed a famil organised by Hong Kong Tourism Board.
The long (working) weekend was arranged to highlight the new direct service between Sydney and the destination from Hong Kong Airlines.
“The group had a fantastic time and the trip exceeded all expectations,” said Karen Prideaux, HKTB Senior Manager, Trade Marketing.
“It was great to be able to experience Hong Kong Airlines, their service and hospitality were excellent, and it’s a strong start to a new partnership.”
The group stayed at the much-lauded Kerry Hotel and joined the opening day of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations.
The itinerary also included a hotel tour of Island Shangri-La, located on Hong Kong Island, a whisky tour at The Macallan House and fine dining at lauded restaurants.
HKTB incorporated cultural highlights into the group’s destination experience with a visit to Hong Kong Palace Museum and a Tai Kwun Heritage Tour.
“Highlights of the trip included staying at the beautiful Kerry Hotel, visiting the Tai Kwan Cultural Centre and of course celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland,” said Melanie McTighe, Ignite Travel Group.
“Hong Kong is an exciting global city, a wonderful melting pot of old and new and I look forward to seeing the continued growth of Australian travellers returning to this special place”
Hong Kong Airlines launched its inaugural Sydney to Hong Kong flight on June 21, making it the second local airline to operate this route, providing greater travel options for Australian business, leisure and transit partners.
The new route reflects Australians’ growing love affair with Hong Kong, which saw a 40% YOY visitation increase from Australia in May 2025.
Trade partners on the famil included representatives of Consolidated Travel Group, Luxury Escapes, Hoot Holidays, Flight Centre, Infinity Holidays, Webjet and Ignite Travel Group.
