Located 200 metres from Uluwatu Beach, the Australian-owned resort will feature seven private luxury villas and 92 thoughtfully designed rooms made up of deluxe suites (30m2), superior suites (40m2) and family suites (70m2).
All will have pool views and will be surrounded by 1.5 kilometres of lush gardens that will wrap around the resort, blending seamlessly into nature.
Umi’s architecture was inspired by the sea caves of nearby Suluban Beach which are naturally curved in a U-shape, opening dramatically to the sea.
Guests will be able to enjoy the three-tiered pools which seamlessly integrate into the natural slope of the land. Beyond the resort, guests have access to another 10 pools at nearby beach clubs and cliffside venues.
The resort will be home to a restaurant, whose menu will be curated by Executive Chef Michael McGairy, whose experience includes work at one of Bali’s leading restaurants Teja Uluwatu and as a private chef on Lizard Island for some of the worlds biggest celebrities.
The restaurant will be a welcome addition to the Uluwatu’s growing culinary scene with a menu that will draw inspiration and a thoughtful fusion from Japanese, modern Australian, Asian, Indonesian, and Middle Eastern cuisines. The atmosphere will be relaxed yet refined and focus on fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented dishes.
The resort will also feature a carefully curated retail space showcasing local crafts people from Bali, offering signature scents (room sprays and perfumes that are locally sourced and made from frangipanis and sandalwood), lifestyle goods like locally made handbags, beach towels and design-forward souvenirs that reflect the soul of Uluwatu and leave guests with something truly memorable to take home.
The resort, which has a focus on luxury and sustainability, was envisioned by co-founder Danil Flehan and Immersive Architecture in collaboration with Vojtek Morsztyn Studio.
Situated on the southwestern tip of the Bukit Peninsula, Umi is minutes away from Bali’s renowned cliff-top spas, beach clubs, restaurants and eight world famous surf beaches including Uluwatu and Suluban Beach both just 200 metres from the resort, as well as Padang Padang, Bingin, Suluban and Dreamland.
“At Umi, we want to give guests an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and offer a sanctuary immersed in Bali’s beautiful environment,” said Danil Flehan.
“We look forward to sharing this experience with visitors once the doors open next year.”
An early bird offer is currently running for two people where kids stay free. Five nights from $1,699.
