After a successful promotion in Melbourne last week, Sydneysiders got their chance to sample the new product, now available on select flights aboard the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The display at Westfield Chatswood drew a steady crowd, curious to try out the luxurious business class product, alongside the new Premium Economy offering.

Attendees also had the chance to win spot prizes and go into the main draw for the chance to earn two business class flights to Hong Kong.

“We’re delighted to be here in Chatswood showcasing our new business class Aria Suite, as well as our Premium Economy seat,” said Tom Kennedy, Regional Head of Sales, SE Asia and Oceania, Cathay Pacific.

“We’re delighted to bring this product into the country. Australia is a really important market for Cathay Pacific. We have close to 80 flights per week departing Australia each week at our summer peak.”

Mr Kennedy said the new products had been created with the customer in mind and had taken six years in the development stage.

Talking about the Aria Suite, Mr Kennedy highlighted the 24-inch TV screen and the customised lighting and seating options.

“Another cool little feature that I quite like is that when you want to go to the bathroom, it shows you on the screen when they are available, so no need to queue anymore.”

Turning to the Premium Economy seat, Mr Kennedy said it had been “enhanced and refreshed” with a 15-inch TV screen, world-class dining and Bluetooth connectivity ensuring Wi-Fi connectivity across the whole aircraft.

“So a really great cabin for Australia and we see a lot of demand from Australians travelling premium economy.

“What’s not on display is our economy seats, which we’ve also tweaked. We recently won the ‘World’s Best Economy Seat’ and we’re really proud of that award.”

MasterChef star and TV personality Khanh Ong recently sampled the new Aria Suite and described it as “chic”.

“I also really like having so much space. I hate having to open the overhead compartment, take the bag down and rummage around to get stuff out.

“In the Aria Suite you have separate areas where you can put skincare into one, the laptop into the other. It all works really well.”
