New research has revealed the safest countries for teenage visitors globally.
The study by student travel company, Rustic Pathways analysed multiple factors, including U.S. State Department travel advisories, crime rates, healthcare quality, traffic safety, government effectiveness and corruption levels.
This was then put into an index to establish which countries really are the safest for travellers.
The results showed:
# Australia named #7 safest for teen visitors globally
# Italy is the safest country to travel to as a teenager, with low crime rates, excellent healthcare and a stable government
# The United Kingdom takes second on the list, with New Zealand in third
# Seven out of the top 10 countries reside in Europe.
“Safety is the foundation of good travel experiences and often dictates where we choose to travel to,” said Shayne Fitz-Coy, CEO of Rustic Pathways.
“When you travel to these destinations, you can focus on enjoying your trip rather than worrying about safety concerns and it is interesting to see how prevalent European countries are on the list, indicating that this may be the best place for teen travellers this summer.”
The top 10 was: Italy, UK, New Zealand, Iceland, Canada, Japan, Australia, Germany, Spain, Greece.
