Kakadu Tourism has launched a range of special discounted cruise, accommodation and touring packages to provide greater incentives for visitors this summer.
Part of Tourism NT’s ‘Best Kept Season’ promotion, there are discounts and added inclusions being offered for stays at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and Cooinda Lodge from now until the end of March 2026.
The season offers rich experiences for visitors with almost nightly light shows as thunder and lightning roll in, waterfalls are at their most dramatic, the dry land turns green, streams begin to flow and tagged million-dollar barramundi fill the streams and billabongs.
Spectacular rock art can be viewed at Nourlangie, cooling swims can be enjoyed in waterholes such as Motor Car Falls, hundreds of bird species along with crocodiles and other wildlife are active on Yellow Water Billabong and Indigenous art and culture can be experienced at Warradjan Cultural Centre, the Bowali Centre and local art galleries.

Australia’s richest fishing competition kicks off on October 1, promising another blockbuster season.
The eleventh annual Million Dollar Fish competition goes through to the end of March and this year there are 11, $1million tagged barramundi waiting to be caught, along with 100, $10,000 tagged barras, many of which have been caught in Kakadu’s Yellow Water Billabong.
