Italo’s network runs from Italy’s north to south, encompassing 59 stations in 51 key cities, including key tourist destinations such as Milan, Florence, Torino, Venice and Naples.

In Rome the company offers services to both Tiburtina station, located close to Roma Termini, and Ostiense, gateway to Roma Fiumicino Airport, making it an outstanding option for business travellers.

Italo’s environmentally-friendly fleet currently consists of 25 state-of-the-art AGV 575 trains, capable of traveling at up to 360 km/h, and 26 Italo EVO trains, which can reach speeds of up to 250 km/h.

Passengers have a choice of three classes of travel: Smart (second class), Prima Business (first class) and Club Executive (premium first), each offering comfortable seating and spacious storage facilities.

Catering is available in Prima Business and Club Executive, while all three classes offer English speaking staff, power sockets at all seats and free Internet, enabling passengers to stream digital information and entertainment (a Cinema carriage also offers a selection of scheduled movies).

Club Executive passengers can also relax in Club Italo lounges in major stations, each offering reception, Wi-Fi and free (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) refreshments and snacks.

James Dunne, Rail Online Chief Executive, says that since entering the market in 2012 Italo has provided an outstanding alternative to the Italian government’s high-speed Le Frecce (The Arrows) trains.

“Italo’s owner, Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV) has shown a genuine commitment to lifting the bar in terms of passenger services, while also ensuring Italian high-speed fares remain highly competitive,” said Mr Dunne.

“For Australian travellers to Italy, Italo trains are a comfortable and convenient option.”

Rail Online’s platform continues to transform the way travel agents interact with the global rail sector by making it easier than ever before to search, compare and book international rail journeys.

All live inventory is priced in Australian dollars and consultants can self-manage any itinerary amendments.
