This will be the first time the airline will have daily services on its Sydney-Auckland-New York route since its launch in June 2023. The new schedule will run from June 2026 until October 2026.

“These flights have been very popular with our customers and we’re looking forward to continuing the service alongside our future nonstop options between Sydney and New York with Project Sunrise,” said Cam Wallace, Qantas CEO International.

This week also marks the return of the Qantas A380 Sydney to Dallas route and the return of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Brisbane to Los Angeles.

On the domestic front, sale fares are available to more than 60 destinations across the country, including on some of Qantas’ newest routes, such as Newcastle and Hobart to Perth.

Some of the sale fares are also available for travel during peak periods, including over the January summer school holidays and Easter 2026.

“Whether you’re travelling to visit family and friends or to explore our very own backyard, there is something for everyone,” said Markus Svensson, Qantas CEO Domestic.

“It’s also a great chance for Australians to get in early and book their holidays next year, with travel dates over the January school holidays and Easter available.”

One-way economy fares start at $105 from Ballina (Byron Bay) to Sydney, with select travel dates from October through to June 2026.

Sale fares are for travel on various dates between October and June 2026 and are available until 11.59pm (AEST) August 18, unless sold out prior.
