More than 70 advisors attended the event at Crown Perth, taking part in a pit stop-themed quiz, where their U.S. road trip knowledge was tested for a chance to win the major prize.

The winner was Masey Knight from Flight Centre Cottesloe, who won two return economy flights with United Airlines to anywhere in the U.S. plus various accommodation and experiences.

The event marked the first stop of a three-city roadshow series, showcasing the depth and diversity of self-drive travel experiences across the United States.

Perth-based agents enjoyed an engaging evening of learning and networking with 20 U.S. destination and product partners, complemented by interactive experiences and spot prizes throughout the night.

“Perth brought an incredible energy to the launch of The Great USA Road Trip – Australia, in partnership with United Airlines,” said Suzy Shepard, Senior Director, Global Trade Development (APAC) at Brand USA.

“It was fantastic to return to the city for the first time since the pandemic and to see so many highly engaged agents in the room.”

A standout moment on the schedule was the insightful panel discussion, ‘Beyond the Map: A Deep Drive into the USA’s Iconic Highways and Backroad Adventures’.

Moderated by Brand USA, the panel featured representatives from the Arizona Office of Tourism, Visit California, Travel Oregon and the New York State Division of Tourism, who shared personal anecdotes and practical advice for exploring the USA by car.

The discussion delved into the unique value of self-drive holidays, emphasising how road trips allow travellers to connect with the country’s diverse landscapes, cultural stories and vibrant local communities.

The panellists also explored the freedom and versatility of multi-state itineraries, offering insights into how agents can tailor road trips to suit a wide range of clients – from families and couples to adventure seekers and sports enthusiasts.

“There’s clearly a strong appetite for road travel in the USA and we’re excited to continue the journey in Adelaide and the Gold Coast this week,” added Ms Shepard.
