AmaWaterways has launched the next chapter of its River of Rewards travel advisor incentive.
Advisors across Australasia have the chance to earn their way aboard the new AmaMaya for a seven-night Mega Famil on the Mekong in September 2027.
The new campaign follows the success of the cruise line’s inaugural River of Rewards, which attracted advisors from hundreds of agencies and generated thousands of challenge entries.
The program has also been named a finalist in the 2026 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs), with winners to be announced on October 10.
Running from now until March 31, 2027, the new campaign gives advisors two ways to earn their place: through eligible AmaWaterways sales or by accumulating points across six monthly challenges.
While bookings can take advisors closer to the Mekong, River of Rewards continues to reward more than sales alone.
The 2027 program introduces more gamified challenges designed to build product knowledge, encourage advisors to put Ama in front of their clients and reward genuine engagement along the way.
“We had such great success with River of Rewards the first time around and the response from advisors was incredible,” said Steve Richards, AmaWaterways Managing Director AU/NZ.
“Hundreds of agencies got involved, we had thousands of challenge entries and millions in booked revenue. And the ultimate acknowledgment is that this advisor incentive has been recognised as an NTIA finalist too. So of course we’re doing it again.”
The Mega Famil will depart September 20, 2027, taking qualifying advisors and a travel companion on the company’s seven-night ‘Riches of the Mekong’ itinerary through Cambodia and Vietnam.
Debuting in January, AmaMaya is the newest addition to the Mekong fleet. Carrying 120 guests in 60 staterooms, the ship will introduce a contemporary interpretation of Indochine design, with two dining venues, a sun deck pool, fitness room, three massage rooms and a dedicated Wellness Host.
Along the Mekong, advisors will experience first-hand the cultures and communities they’ll be selling to their clients, from traditional villages and local workshops to Phnom Penh by tuk-tuk, a Buddhist blessing ceremony and the waterways of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta.
“This time, going to the Mekong on a brand-new ship, we couldn’t be more excited to showcase AmaMaya and share this incredible region with our travel partners,” added Mr Richards.
Advisors who register for River of Rewards will become part of the campaign throughout its six-month run, with access to monthly challenges, education and selling resources, the latest AmaWaterways news and support from their Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
A live challenge leaderboard will add some friendly competition, while new gamified elements will give advisors more ways to test their knowledge, participate and earn points.
“My biggest advice is don’t overthink it. Get yourself registered and get involved,” added Mr Richards. “We’d love nothing more than to see some new names earning their way onto AmaMaya with us.”
