Holland America Line recently welcomed a select group of trade representatives from Australasia onboard an immersive Alaska famil.
The voyage gave the trade members first-hand experience of the destination, land-based Cruisetour program and onboard offerings that make the cruise line synonymous with Alaska travel.
Hosted by Belinda Cark, Holland America Line Sales Manager, and Erin King, Key Account Manager, the famil combined some of Alaska and Canada’s best landscapes with the line’s signature onboard experience.
The voyage took guests from Anchorage and Denali through Fairbanks and Dawson before continuing to Skagway and sailing aboard Koningsdam to Vancouver.
The land portion of the journey offered the group the opportunity to experience Alaska beyond the cruise itself, including the McKinley Explorer rail journey, a narrated Tundra Wilderness Tour through Denali National Park, the Riverboat Discovery Tour in Fairbanks and even some guests trying the notorious Sourtoe Cocktail at the Sourdough Saloon.
The group then embarked Koningsdam for the cruise component, experiencing scenic cruising through Glacier Bay and the Inside Passage, alongside a visit to Ketchikan and a range of Holland America Line’s signature dining and entertainment offerings.
“Of all the Cruise Tours we have available, if you have clients wanting to really see Alaska, with the wildlife and those smaller more unique towns, then the Denali & Yukon really is the way to go,” said Ms Clark.
“It truly combines small town Alaska, great people and stunning scenery and wildlife. Then having the Inside Passage to cruise with whales is the icing on the cake.”
The famil also provided an opportunity for Holland America Line to strengthen relationships with local travel partners, with a dedicated brand update held onboard to share the latest information, products and experiences available to travel advisors.
For the cruise line, which has been exploring Alaska for nearly 80 years, the experience reinforced its long-standing connection to the destination and its approach to combining immersive exploration on land with a comfortable and enriching cruise experience.
