Nepal-based Community Homestay Network (CHN) is inviting Aussie travel advisors to apply to join a fam trip to the Upper Mustang region.
The community tourism organisation is now taking applications for its Upper Mustang: A Trans-Himalayan Community Experience fam taking place from December 5 – 16.
Advisors will visit one of the most remote and culturally intact corners of the Himalayan world, where ancient trade routes, living Bon traditions and the walled medieval city of Lo Manthang tell the story of a people who have shaped their landscape as much as it has shaped them.
Shiva Dhakal, Founder of CHN, says the social enterprise is looking to expand its travel agent sales in Australia, as the market is ripe for this style of immersive travel and airline routes are strong from Australia.
“Travelling with Community Homestay Network means seeing a different side of Nepal, in a way that supports and empowers local people in lesser-known parts of the country.
“We already know Aussie travellers love this style of tourism, so we’re excited to open their minds to a new region of the country.
“Nepal has become more accessible with improved air connectivity via multiple regional hubs. There’s never been a better time to tick off this bucket list destinations in a new way.”
Community Homestay Network is also introducing its first fixed departure trips for agents to sell this year.
Eight immersive, multi-day itineraries are now on offer for guaranteed departure beginning September 6. More than 100 multi-day departures now available to book for travel up to December 2027.
These experiences can all be sold directly by travel agents, with on-the-ground knowledge and logistical support delivered by the Nepal-based team, who also share stories from communities that agents can confidently communicate with travellers, helping sell Nepal by seeing it through the eyes of its people.
Applications of interest for Community Homestay Network’s December fam trip can be made at this link by August 31, 2026.
Ground arrangements are covered, but flights will be at the agents’ expense and spaces are limited.
