Nine members of Air Canada’s Australian team headed to Hong Kong this month to join colleagues from across Asia Pacific for a series of annual briefings on the airline’s regional and global priorities.

Gathering at the Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel, more than fifty staff from around the region received updates on new products and service improvements planned for 2026 and the years ahead. Air Canada’s Sales Manager for Leisure in Australia and New Zealand, Rick Pomery, said the sessions offered valuable insight into the airline’s forward strategy.

Pomery highlighted a number of developments on the way, including the introduction of free WiFi on trans Pacific routes and a refreshed inflight experience. He also noted the airline’s ambitious fleet program, which is set to support the continued expansion of Air Canada’s international network across Asia Pacific.

The Australian contingent also took the chance to see more of Hong Kong during their visit. The team explored some of the city’s culinary favourites and joined a half day tour of Tai O, the historic fishing village known for its stilt houses set above the tidal flats on Lantau Island.

Pomery said the annual regional gathering remains an energising opportunity for staff to reconnect, share achievements and exchange ideas on how they can better support leisure and corporate travel partners in the year ahead.
