Qatar Airways is expanding its global network to more than 170 destinations, including a boost to services to Australia.
Starting December 9, the airline will resume daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne.
The resumption reconnects Australia’s capital to Qatar’s global network and provides additional connectivity to Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Furthermore, the airline is expanding frequencies to Melbourne from seven to 14 weekly flights from December 9.
In partnership with Qatar Airways, Virgin Australia will also expand flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to Doha from December.
Sydney will increase from seven to 14 weekly flights (total 21 weekly with Qatar), Brisbane will restart with three weekly flights (total 10 weekly with Qatar), and Perth will restart with four weekly flights (total 11 weekly with Qatar).
With nearly 1,800 weekly frequencies planned during December, the award-winning airline is entering the winter season with greater scale and a robust global footprint, delivering more choice and connectivity for global travellers.
As part of elevating the in-flight experience for global passengers, the airline is also advancing Starlink rollout to more routes in its network across six continents.
With up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights operating daily, the airline is making access to the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky on more than 150 equipped widebody aircraft an increasingly familiar part of its passenger experience.
