World renowned rock climber Alex Honnold is turning his attention from vertical walls to open roads in a new Nevada travel series designed to inspire adventurous Australians and New Zealanders.
Fresh from his free climb of Taipei 101, Honnold has partnered with Travel Nevada and Outside to host Get a Little Out There With Alex Honnold, a five part series filmed entirely in his home state. It marks his first role as a travel show host and shifts the focus from extreme climbing to curiosity, culture and everyday adventure.
Travelling by van across the Silver State, Honnold explores bucket list experiences and offbeat attractions, from stargazing under the famously dark skies of Great Basin National Park to mining turquoise in central Nevada. Along the way, the series highlights how stepping outside routine and into unfamiliar places can change perspective.
“My love for adventure matches the spirit of Nevada,” says Honnold. “Red Rock has been a huge part of my life, but the state still surprises me with how much there is to see and do. I’m excited to explore its hidden corners and share what makes it so special.”
Travel Nevada CEO Rafael Villanueva says the partnership brings the destination’s brand to life. “Our mantra is ‘Get a Little Out There,’ and Alex is the perfect person to show what that really means, from iconic outdoor landscapes to under the radar experiences.”
Premiering in 2026 across the Outside network, the series also doubles as inspiration for road trippers, with highlights including the International Car Forest along the Free Range Art Highway, Great Basin National Park, an official Dark Sky Park, and the quirky Extraterrestrial Highway.
Get a Little Out There With Alex Honnold launches on the Outside TV App from 26 February 2026. The trailer is available now, with more behind the scenes content at travelnevada.com and on Instagram via @alexhonnold and @travelnevada.au.nz.
