The Ascott Limited has broken ground on Oakwood Flemington Melbourne, a new 97-key apartment hotel expected to open in February 2028.
Its design will draw inspiration from the neighbouring racecourse, creating a strong connection to the surrounding area.
David Mansfield, The Ascott Limited Managing Director Australasia, said the location would give the property a distinctive Melbourne identity while combining Oakwood’s residential-style accommodation with hospitality services for business and leisure travellers.
The project adds to a period of Australian expansion for Ascott, following openings including Quest Southport, Quest Canberra Dickson and Citadines Elizabeth Street Pier Hobart. Oakwood Epping is also among three further properties expected to open before the end of 2026.
Mr Mansfield said developments including Oakwood Flemington and Quest Elizabeth would support the company’s next stage of growth in Australia.
