Thirteen top-selling travel agents from Australasia will join hundreds of international travel industry delegates in Cambodia this month for the 2026 World Community Tourism Summit.
Hosted by G Adventures and its non-profit partner Planeterra, the summit will take place on September 27 as the culmination of GX, a week-long program expected to bring together around 650 partners, suppliers and G Adventures staff.
Australian travel writer Nina Karnikowski will be among the speakers, with sessions focused on community tourism, local storytelling and the role travel can play in supporting destinations.

The broader program will include a festival at Wat Phnom, a river journey to Silk Village, a community-supported lunch near Sambor Prei Kuk and tuk tuk experiences around Angkor Wat with Lady Tuk Tuk, an all-female team of drivers.
The summit itself will feature presentations from international and Cambodian speakers, performances by local artists and community groups and the event’s first live on-stage podcast recording with Travel Trends.
Judy Kepher Gona from Sustainable Travel and Tourism Africa will return with a keynote exploring active listening and dialogue with local communities, while Khadija Amahal, a National Geographic Expedition Expert and member of Morocco’s Indigenous Amazigh community, will discuss community, connection and storytelling.

Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures founder, said Cambodia provided a strong setting for the event’s focus on community tourism.
“GX was built to celebrate the transformative impact travel can have when it’s done right, and we are so excited to bring the GX energy to Cambodia, a country defined by its incredible resilience, history and warmth,” Mr Poon Tip said.
The week will conclude with a private gathering at Bayon Temple followed by a closing celebration featuring DJ Earworm.
