Aussies are officially on island time with a flight and holiday bookings boom for Pacific Islands destinations.
New Webjet data reveals flight bookings to the Cook Islands alone are up 47 per cent year on year so far in 2026, making it the fastest-growing destination in the region.
Vanuatu is not far behind at 38 per cent growth, while Fiji is up 12 per cent and Samoa up 10 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The appetite for tropical escapes extends beyond the Pacific, with Vietnam up 30 per cent and Bali up 21 per cent in the same timeframe.
Australians are also increasingly opting for holiday packages combining flights and accommodation in a single booking.
Fiji is leading that charge, with package bookings up 70 per cent year on year, making it Webjet’s second most popular international holiday package destination behind Bali and ahead of Phuket. Bali packages are up 36 per cent and Phuket 13 per cent.
Despite the focus on value, Australians are not compromising on quality. Ninety per cent of all holiday package bookings made so far in 2026 are for four- and five-star hotels.
