Air Canada has become the newest partner of Blue Light Card, a discount and rewards program offering exclusive savings for first responders and essential workers.

The partnership will provide Blue Light Card members – including healthcare workers, emergency services personnel, teachers and defence force members – with access to exclusive offers from Canada’s largest airline, helping them save on their next holiday or visit to loves ones abroad.

First established in the UK, Blue Light Card is now used by more than six million members worldwide, who collectively save an estimated $190 million annually through access to more than 15,000 partner brands.

In 2022 the program launched to Australia and has since grown to more than 100,000 members, who enjoy discounts and rewards from hundreds of leading partners across the grocery, fashion, pharmacy, technology, energy, travel and insurance sectors.

With more than three million Australians now working as essential workers or first responders, membership is expected to grow quickly in coming years.

Eunica Pineda, Air Canada Marketing and Online Sales Manager, says that the Blue Light Card program offers a rare opportunity to acknowledge and reward the people in our community who protect and care for others.

“It’s about letting everyone from aged care workers and ambulance drivers to police and fire fighters know how much we value the vital work they do to keep our communities healthy, safe and secure,” said Ms Pineda.

Hamish Moline, Blue Light Card Australia General Manager, welcomed Air Canada to the program, saying the partnership further expands the range of meaningful benefits available to members.

“Our members work in some of the most demanding and important roles in Australia, often putting the needs of others ahead of their own,” said Mr Moline.

“Travel provides an opportunity to reconnect with family, recharge and create lasting memories, so we’re thrilled to welcome Air Canada to the Blue Light Card family.”

Blue Light Card membership is available to eligible first responders and essential workers for just $9.95 for two years.

Members can access exclusive discount and offers through the Blue Light Card app, available on both iOS and Android devices.
