Celestyal, a leader in the cruise industry renowned for its Aegean and Adriatic itineraries, has announced the appointment of Ascend Travel Group as its Australian trade marketing representative. This new collaboration is part of Celestyal’s ambitious three-year growth strategy, which includes expanding into the Arabian Gulf and launching year-round cruises on both of its ships for the first time. Australia has been highlighted as a key market in this strategic push.

The team at Ascend Travel Group, led by directors Julie Primmer and Lynda Wallace, will work closely with Celestyal’s Australian Business Development Manager, Mary Williams. Together, they will focus on trade support, strategic sales, marketing initiatives, and comprehensive training for local travel agents.

Celestyal’s Vice President of Business Development, Janet Parton, commented on the partnership, stating, “We are excited to welcome Ascend Travel Group as we embark on this period of growth. With the arrival of Celestyal Journey in the Arabian Gulf, our capacity has increased by 30% from 2023-24. As we aim to double Australian bookings, this partnership will be essential, especially as the majority of our business relies on trade channels. Ascend Travel Group brings the experience and expertise needed to help us achieve our ambitious goals.”

Lynda Wallace, Director of Ascend Travel Group, shared her enthusiasm for the partnership: “This collaboration is a significant step forward for Celestyal in Australia. We’re excited to introduce more Australian travellers to Celestyal’s diverse itineraries, which showcase the beauty and culture of the Aegean, Adriatic, and Arabian regions.”

Julie Primmer, fellow Director at Ascend Travel Group, emphasised their commitment to supporting the local travel trade. “We’re eager to work with agents across Australia to promote Celestyal’s award-winning cruises, from island-hopping to immersive cultural experiences. Our team will provide essential training, marketing resources, and support to ensure agents are well-equipped to showcase Celestyal’s unique offerings to their clients.”

The partnership officially commences on 18 November 2024, following the departure of Celestyal’s Regional Manager, Stewart Williams.
