Club Med has wrapped up a series of lively events across Melbourne, Perth and Sydney to celebrate the upcoming launch of its first-ever South African resort, Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari, set to open in July 2026.
The pioneer of premium all-inclusive holidays partnered with South African Airways, South Africa Tourism and KwaZulu Natal Tourism for the nationwide roadshow, which brought together key figures from the travel industry. Guests enjoyed presentations from each partner, a South African-inspired meal by The Meat & Wine Co and vibrant traditional entertainment.
The events gave attendees a taste of the experiences awaiting travellers at the new resort, highlighting its beach-and-safari dual concept, family-friendly design and commitment to sustainability and community partnerships.
Michelle Davies, General Manager for Club Med Pacific and New ESAP Markets, said the new property marks a significant milestone for the brand.
“Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari represents a major milestone for our brand, not only as our first resort in South Africa but also as our pioneering dual-location offering,” she said.
“Travellers will be able to immerse themselves in the best of South Africa, from pristine beaches to unforgettable safari adventures, all within a premium all-inclusive setting.”
Davies added that Club Med’s strong heritage in family travel remains at the heart of its expansion strategy. “We are now leaning into our family expertise to cater to the next generation of affluent families seeking both comfort and adventure,” she said.
Set along the Dolphin Coast and within a private game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal Province, the resort will combine a luxurious coastal retreat with an authentic safari experience.
Davies said the partnership with key South African tourism stakeholders allowed Club Med to showcase what makes the destination so unique and to provide a glimpse of what guests can expect.
“With South Africa growing in popularity among Australian travellers, this resort is a key part of our global expansion plans and aligns perfectly with our upscale offering,” she said.
Club Med reported global business volume of €1.175 billion ($AU2 billion) in the first half of 2024, with the Pacific market up 16 per cent. The company plans to build on that momentum with an ambitious pipeline of new openings.
Sales for Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari will open on October 14 as part of Club Med’s Endless Summer Sale 2026. Travel agents are encouraged to stay tuned for further details.
