More than 60,000 cruisers worldwide have embraced the Cruise Globe platform since its launch in February.
The Cruise Globe uses AIS satellite tracking to provide detailed, accurate representations of each cruise, including route variations, ports visited and nautical miles sailed.
This allows travellers to easily find the exact routes and statistics of their entire cruise history and then share it as a visually rich cruise logbook, helping them track their journeys in ways never possible before.
The inventors behind the platform are today launching a mobile app to supplement the online version. The new app is available on both Android and iOS.
The new free-to-use app will include the existing elements of the digital platform including the ability to accurately and visually log the exact satellite-derived route of their cruise holiday on an interactive map.
Users also benefit from a full breakdown of the statistics from their entire cruise history, including the number of ports and countries visited, along with the exact total distance travelled.
The Cruise Globe is already proving popular with cruise travellers globally, with over 300,000 cruises being logged by users to date.
Sarah Webster, Australian CLIA Masters Cruise Specialist from Wayfinder Travel, was among the first international advisors to engage with the UK-based team after discovering the platform.
“I was looking for something special to gift to my clients after they’d completed their cruises and The Cruise Maps (the sister company to The Cruise Globe) had the perfect product for that!,” she said.
“I now order digital maps, as well as printed maps (and The Cruise Maps album for my repeat cruisers) which brings the maps in their Cruise Globe profiles to life.
“They love having that visual reminder of their journeys, especially so when it’s an expedition cruise with no set itinerary; seeing exactly where they’ve sailed brings back memories and details they’d potentially forget.”
Frequent cruisers are using The Cruise Globe platform to map their voyages digitally, with many choosing to order quality prints of their maps, from within the app, choosing to either have them framed, or displaying them within their personal Cruise Map Album.
Sharing their voyages via #mappedmycruise is also gaining popularity across social platforms.
