Emirates Skywards members now have more flexibility when it comes to redeeming their Miles, with the airline introducing Classic Rewards and Upgrade Rewards in Premium Economy.
The move, effective from 11 September, allows the loyalty programme’s 35 million members worldwide to book full Premium Economy tickets from 15,000 Miles one-way, or upgrade from Economy from just over 7,000 Miles.
The new reward option has been introduced following strong demand from members eager to experience the airline’s latest cabin product on long-haul routes such as Sydney, Melbourne, London, and New York.
Dr Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said the expansion was developed after positive feedback from travellers:
“We’re thrilled to announce the introduction of flight rewards on Emirates’ highly coveted Premium Economy cabin… We look forward to more of our members now having the opportunity to experience Emirates’ newest, luxurious cabin with a service that rivals many airlines’ Business Class.”
Expanding the Premium Economy Experience
Emirates Premium Economy has quickly become one of the airline’s signature offerings. Recognised globally with awards such as AirlineRatings.com’s ‘Best Premium Economy’, the cabin features cream leather seats with up to 40 inches of pitch, calf and footrests, generous meals paired with premium wines, and one of the largest inflight entertainment screens in its class at 13.3 inches.
Travellers also benefit from dedicated check-in desks and access to Emirates’ upgraded inflight entertainment system, ice, which now offers more than 6,500 channels.
Currently available on more than 66 routes worldwide, Premium Economy will be expanded to 68 cities by March 2026. Emirates’ US$5 billion retrofit programme is also seeing hundreds of aircraft refurbished with the new cabin, alongside the addition of new Airbus A350s featuring the product.
By the end of 2026, Emirates expects to offer around four million Premium Economy seats across its network annually.
Skywards Growth
The announcement comes as Emirates Skywards continues to expand redemption opportunities, recently introducing Classic Rewards on all flydubai flights and revising its Cash+Miles options. The programme has proved popular, with nearly half a million tickets redeemed through Classic Rewards, Cash+Miles, and Upgrade Rewards during June–August 2025.
