Australian travellers planning longer European journeys can save up to 50% on selected rail passes under a new Interrail promotion running until September 30.
The sale applies to selected long-duration Interrail Global Passes, while shorter Global Passes and One Country Passes are discounted by 15% during the same period.
The promotion follows the recent rebrand from Eurail to Interrail and the launch of the company’s new global platform, The Interrail Effect, which focuses on slower and more flexible ways of travelling across Europe.
Ozlem Birkalan, Interrail Chief Brand and Commercial Officer, said the campaign was designed to encourage travellers to spend more time exploring beyond major cities.
“Spending longer on the continent often creates space for the unexpected – discovering a village that wasn’t on the itinerary, accepting a recommendation from someone you’ve just met, or deciding to stay an extra day because you’ve fallen in love with a place,” Ms Birkalan said.
Travellers have 11 months from the date of issue to activate their pass, with further discounts available for seniors aged 60 and over and travellers aged 12 to 27. Up to two children aged four to 11 can travel free, and second class passes are included in the sale.
Interrail Global Passes cover rail travel across up to 33 European countries, giving travellers flexibility to adjust routes and length of stay as they travel.
Australian travel agents can access Interrail products through Rail Europe, Klook and other official distributors.
