Members of the travel Industry are invited to hear the experts speak at two high-profile luncheons in Brisbane and Sydney.
The events take place on February 4 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and on February 6 at the International Convention Centre Sydney. Both will be hosted by the Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF).
Keynote speaker will be Riku Aho (left), Finnair’s VP Sustainability, along with Ann-Sofie Hoerlin, Strategic Advisor, Sustainable Aviation, and former Head of Sustainability at SAS – Scandinavian Airlines.
From the USA will be Marcel Goncalves, Carnival Corporation’s Vice President, Decarbonisation, who will provide insights into how cruise ships are developing innovative technologies and practices now ahead of alternative energy sources becoming available at scale.
Local speakers include Danny Elia, IFM Investors’ Global Head of Asset Management, Jessica Rudd, Brisbane Airport’s Head of Sustainability, and Karen Tompkins, Sydney Airport’s Group Executive, Government Relations, Sustainability & Legal.
“This series is a fantastic opportunity to hear the perspective of international industry leaders and learn critical lessons from overseas, so Australia can stay competitive as a long-haul destination,” said Margy Osmond, TTF CEO.
“Long-haul markets that fail to build supply will struggle, while those that invest early will shape the future of global aviation and protect their economic competitiveness.
“When Australia misses out on a major international conference for example, because sustainability obligations can’t be met, the impact ripples far beyond the airport, hitting hotels, venues, tour operators and local jobs right across the visitor economy.”
