International passengers arriving at Sydney Airport now have a new shopping option inside the baggage reclaim area, with Australia’s first dedicated arrivals store of its kind opening within the precinct.

Developed by Sydney Airport and Heinemann Australia, the store gives travellers an opportunity to shop after clearing immigration and before collecting their luggage, bringing retail closer to the natural passenger flow through the terminal.

The new space offers a curated range of liquor and perfume products, including international brands and selected Australian products.

Mark Zaouk, Sydney Airport Executive General Manager Commercial, said the development formed part of the airport’s broader investment in the passenger experience.

“Working with Heinemann allows us to bring together global expertise, premium brands and innovative retail concepts to deliver a more engaging and seamless experience for our passengers,” Mr Zaouk said.

Sydney Airport handles around 42 million passengers each year and is continuing to invest in upgrades designed to make the journey through the airport more intuitive and convenient.

Rajshree Dugar, Heinemann Asia Pacific CEO, said the new store reflected changing traveller expectations and demand for greater convenience.

“Our goal is to create a retail environment that is welcoming, memorable and convenient, giving passengers greater choice and one final opportunity to shop before continuing their journey,” Ms Dugar said.

The arrivals store forms part of the airport’s wider customer experience program, with Sydney Airport and Heinemann continuing to develop retail concepts across the international terminal.
