Season 3 of the culinary lifestyle series starring chef Warren Mendes is set to premiere on August 23.

The new series, which will screen weekly for 10 weeks, was launched at an industry event at Chauvel Cinema in Sydney last week, attended by Traveltalk.

Season 3 will take viewers on a journey across sweeping landscapes, exploring savannahs, winelands and city neighbourhoods to experience adventures such as walking safaris, cliff jumping, bush braais, an epic train journey and truly life-changing conservation initiatives.

Each episode pairs immersive travel with hands‑on cooking and candid conversations with the people whose passion for their craft turns each meal into a story – the guides, chefs, sommeliers, foragers, artisans and everyday South Africans.

Host Warren Mendes discovers the people, places and culture that make the country’s culinary landscape so unique and the destination so unforgettable.

“I am beyond excited to bring Season 3. This season felt more intimate than ever and I am so proud of the country I get to show off,” said Warren.

“I was lucky enough to walk with guides who live and breathe these places, to cook with chefs who treat every ingredient with love and to constantly be blown away by the rugged beauty of South Africa.

“More than a cooking show, Season 3 is a love letter – to the people who harvest, protect and celebrate South Africa’s flavours.

“I hope viewers feel the generosity and care we were shown, and come away inspired to taste, travel and protect these remarkable places.”

The new season comes hot on the heels of Mendes winning ‘Best Celebrity Cookbook in the World’ for the book of the same name, Food Trail South Africa, at this year’s international Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

“Food Trail South Africa is a visual feast which showcases how beautiful South Africa is, but moreover, beautifully captures the heart of the country,” said Yana Shvarts, Acting Hub Head for South African Tourism Australasia.

“Experiencing South Africa isn’t just about seeing the sights – it’s also about tasting the flavours that reflect the country’s rich history and multicultural identity.

“Whether enjoying a casual meal at a township shisanyama or fine-dining in one of our award-winning restaurants, South Africa’s food offers a deep connection to its people, past and present and indulging in our dishes is essential to truly understanding the country’s soul.”
